With the current state of the world, I predict a massive shift coming to the online business world in the upcoming weeks due to the quarantine requirements. I foresee that a number of you will take this as an opportunity to dig in, reflect, realign priorities and figure out how to make a more connected, slow and intentional life work for YOU — and perhaps never look back to how things “used to be”. I’m optimistic that this could be the reset many of us need.
Please know I’m coming to you from a state of insomnia (as it’s 3:48 am in Minnesota..) and a place of service, not from an opportunist perspective – I have nothing to sell on this topic.
—
If you’re looking at the next 6-8 weeks of quarantine and feeling some level of concern about what’s coming up next as we head into the unknown (Elsa reference to lighten the mood), I want to share more about what I do – because many of you have been asking.
Long story short, I teach personal brands how to leverage traffic systems to get continuous leads and then sell them digital products.
BUT… things must start long before someone comes into my personal circle of expertise – before I could work with someone, they need to have decided that they have something they could sell on the Internet – a problem that they could solve over bandwidth. They must be an expert, a service provider, or have a set of skills to teach, or a topic on which to lead.
—
Think about the “human brands” you know – Dave Ramsey, Oprah, Martha Stewart… to name a few.
Those are all personal brands – but you don’t have to be super famous in today’s landscape to call yourself an expert.
Our culture is working in a more human to human way than we ever have before… we are using other human’s cars and trusting their driving skills (Uber/Lyft), we are renting other humans’ homes (AirBNB/VRBO), and we are having humans bring us our groceries (Instacart). All of these are convenience-based human to human brands, driven by technology.
—
What if there was another human who knew something that YOU wanted to know and could save you a ton of time – like how to invest in the stock market on your own?
What if there was a human who had a skill set that could help you learn something or practice a new skill – like my daughters’ speech therapist?
What if there was a skilled designer who could get the work done in a fraction of the time your in-house design team was taking because there were fewer meetings that should have been emails?
Those are all potential online business owners with personal brand potential.
—
What is a personal brand?
A personal brand is born when you use your face, name, personal expertise and method towards results as the anchor of your business. You don’t need an overly designed logo – generally, a nice font will do – (check out CreativeMarket to get a pulse on what typefaces are popular right now).
Of course, this is totally a matter of personal preference.. if you’ve already put effort into building your brand around a “business name”, there’s no reason you need to start over with a personal brand page – unless you’re feeling called to do so. Personally, I think “brand name” pages work well when you’re wanting to grow and scale a full business – maybe even to the point of being acquired. If you’re wanting to go more of the “expert route” where your name would be easily referenced and recognized as an author or speaker, etc, then the personal brand can be the way to go.
Who can start an online business?
Anyone who teaches, coaches, leads or shares their expertise in a one to one (1:1) or one to many fashion – piano teachers, speech therapists, counselors, coaches, teachers, consultants, experts of any kind and skilled service providers (your “typical” freelance jobs – writing, design, tech, coding, assistants, business managers).
What if I rep a network marketing company?
Still totally relevant. The network marketers that I’ve seen have the most success build a personal brand that’s supported by the products they represent. So it’s about YOU as the star of the show, not your product.
What are the tools I use?
Zoom:
I use zoom exclusively for face to face video chat. I use it to host group meetings where I answer questions and host sometimes 50-60 people at a time. I also use it for internal meetings. I love it because I can share my screen to illustrate things OR I can ask my students to share their own screens. You can choose to record the calls or set up additional features like breakout rooms or even run webinars to thousands of people – which I’ve also tested on Zoom.Google Business Suite:
I use Google Business Suite to host my business email1. so that I can have an email that’s @tinyoffer.com (instead of gmail.com) and still uses the same interface I know and love. I’m also heavily reliant on Google Team Drive, where I’ve set up a team folder where all of my team members can access our files. (You can Google “Shared Google Drives” to find instructions on how to set this up). The folders my team uses include:
1. Operations
2. SOP Vault
3. Social Media
4. Products and Services
5. Marketing
6. Customers
7. Branding
8. Admin
This helps keep us organized and makes link sharing within our communication super simple.Slack:
For team communication, we use Slack exclusively. We have individual channels set up including
1. Ads
2. Celebrations
3. Chatra (This pulls in notifications from our on-site customer service chat app – chatra or drift, we’re testing both support apps)
4. Customer Service
5. Executive Team
6. Expert Team
7. Internal Chat
8. Marketing
9. Process Creation
10. Product Development
11. Reference
12. Sales
13. Schedule
14. Success Coaches
15. User ExperienceLoom:
For quick demos and screen walkthroughs, we use Loom. I’ve personally used Loom to record step by step training materials for my team, to provide audits for my clients or demystify tricky tech setups for my students. You can record your screen with audio & have the option to add your face in the video. (This works great for course building because people can SEE you while you’re teaching.
Loom has a free service and they are offering special pricing on paid services through July, click the link at the top of the website.Voxer:
I’ve explained Voxer as a “walkie talkie app” to leave text or voicemail messages. I use this with my private coaching clients & team members to walk through more complicated questions or “talking things through”. This is even my go-to method for communicating with some of my online besties – because the digital (or quarantined) life can get lonely.Asana:
When it comes to project management, we’re back using a tool called Asana. We’ve tested others (like Trello AND Clickup) and Asana seems to be the most intuitive to understand. We can assign product due dates, track progress, and assign certain tasks to team members.Facebook Groups:
The majority of communication around group program questions from students happens within a private Facebook group. This is largely communication and coach driven, though I do pop in and answer questions as often as I can.Membervault:
I use Membervault to host all of my training content. I really love Membervault for its data, gamification abilities and how easy it is to share direct links to specific lessons and modules while hosting all of my programs in one place for users who have purchased multiple items. It integrates seamlessly with other tools that I use and it’s free for up to 50 users.ActiveCampaign:
Arguably, one of the most important things behind the scenes of a thriving online business is its email list. Building a list of emails people have willingly given you is one of the easiest ways to “own” your audience. When I say own your audience, I mean that Facebook could shut down your business page any time they see fit (ask me how I know) and it can be really scary to be so reliant on one platform. When you have an email list of engaged people (and hopefully buyers!), you know you always have an audience available and paying attention when you have something new to promote. Too many “offline businesses” don’t actively collect email addresses, then they rely on social media for their marketing efforts – which, again, leaves you dependent on Facebook (or whoever’s!) algorithm in hopes that your audience even SEES the thing you’re promoting. One of the best things you can do for your business is to start collecting email addresses now. Of course, I prefer to use my Tiny Offer Strategy to build an email list, but that’s a topic for a different day.ClickFunnels:
How do I get their email addresses? I use a tool like ClickFunnels to create experiences that encourage the sharing of their contact info. There’s generally an energy exchange that happens here – many people offer a free info product in exchange for their email address, but I like to sell right off the bat because I believe it holds people accountable and builds a list of people who actually buy things – which, shocker, as a business owner, sales are important to me.This is the full stack of tools that I started with and used to grow my online business into a million-dollar company.
——-
Our reality is shifting – by the hour – right now, and the best way to survive is to get comfortable in being uncomfortable and doing what you can within your four walls.
This is the best time ever to get clear on your online business idea and start serving those that need you – our job market may never go back to normal commutes and oversized conference tables – and maybe that’s a good thing.
Please let me know what questions you have and how I can help you get started.

As part of the reflection I did on the year 2019, I felt like I needed to do a gut check on how I was feeling about the nitty gritty details of life and business. I wanted to comb through if I was still feeling “lit up” by my daily and weekly schedule – and it immediately became pretty clear I wasn’t.
My business 10X’d its income from 2018 to 2019, and the personal growth stretch that was required to come with it has (at times) felt like it was going to rip me right open.
My business has been built on the foundation of freedom and fitting your business around your life, not your life around your business, and I felt the edges becoming blurred – with work often creeping into other (previously intentional) areas of my life.
As someone who needs a consistent dose of feel-good fitness endorphins, I’d been missing my workouts far too often.
My schedule was feeling all over the place, and I was pressuring myself to cram 40 hours of “work” into 15 hours of childcare.
I had been relying more and more on screen-time to entertain my kids and I missed pulling them into my lap to snuggle and read.
On the business side, my team has grown a lot over the last few months, too, and we are now operating as a team of 7 behind the personal brand.
I recently hired an amazing integrator (Stephanie Donahue!) and told her “I need help planning out a schedule that FEELS good… can you help me figure that out so I can have more consistency in my routine?”
Within hours, she sent me a Google Calendar link to import, complete with room for my favorite hot yoga class on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
We ultimately decided it was worth it to fit yoga in… even though it’s during my “scheduled childcare hours” and I had been avoiding morning workouts because I felt like I “should be” working on my business during that time, not working out.
It turns out I’m actually super productive in the wee hours of the morning – and I mean like 3 or 4 am early.
I can get more done in those 3 hours before my kiddos wake up than I accomplished previously in an entire week of 8-5s – (admittedly I was NOT a very productive employee).
Stephanie also helped me break my work tasks into “deep work” – to be completed in my super focused morning time, versus my “light work”, which can happen in the afternoons when my girls are home with me and playing or having some tablet time. It turns out the guilt around screens and kids is also something else I’ve been hanging onto too tightly.
Stephanie has also been categorizing my Asana tasks into checklists specific to each time period, deep or light, which is amazing.
I DID make it to yoga this morning, and at the end of the class – the yoga instructor said: “Surrender into your mats”….
Which felt so, so fitting for how I’ve been feeling.
Surrender into feeling misunderstood – Waking up at 3 am and admitting you have goals of growing a $10M company isn’t for everyone. Nor is amassing and managing the team necessary for product development and delivery.
Surrender into trusting my team and behaving like a CEO – and guess what, everything functioned perfectly for the 2 hours I was at the gym.
Surrender into creating a schedule that fits my best, most creative and happiest self’s interests – I’m here writing this post, feeling inspired after months of mental content drought. (Sometimes space from the work is actually the work you’d benefit from doing.)
Surrender into being okay with my business looking different than someone’s without kids and surrender into my motherhood looking different than a mom who isn’t building a legacy from her dining room table.
Surrender into time spent intentionally – sometimes just 20 minutes of pulling my babies into my lap for a pile of books in the afternoon is enough.
I guess the point of this post is to DO YOU.
Accept that your journey is your own, and you can design it to look however you’d like… and if you DO fall out of alignment, you can shift your focus and course-correct in a matter of hours.
You don’t have to be understood by everyone.
You can absolutely do the scary thing and be successful. Don’t let others’ limiting beliefs fuel the voice inside of your head.
If there’s been a voice that keeps telling you to do the thing – listen.
There are seasons of life (what I call sprints) where your focus might shift – and that’s the ultimate balance – you can always pull the blurry back into 20/20 vision (bad #momjoke). I probably won’t set my alarm for 3 am for the rest of my life – but for now, I’m doing what it takes.
And on to my personal mantra for 2020…..
Dream big. Start tiny.

We shy away from sales, yet think about the last time you finally bought something you REALLY wanted. How fun was that purchase?
People “feel weird” selling when they think they’re trying to push something people don’t actually want..
But what happens when you flip the script and you sell in a way that matches the way you’d want to buy or be sold to.
Be EXCITED to sell and people will feel that energy. Create a HECK YES, I need this feeling and belief around your own products and offers and your audience will feel that way too.
If you’re not excited about what you’re selling, time to go back to the drawing board.
Back when I was running an advertising agency, one of the first questions people would ask me is “What’s a good ad budget?”
Oftentimes, I’d respond with the question “Well, how long is a string?”
Yeah, I know that question doesn’t make sense without any context… and neither does the ad question.
You see, a huge shift that my most successful clients have made is realizing that the DOLLAR AMOUNT spent on ads is not relevant as long as you’re bringing in a return on investment and making that profit.
If you could go to a vending machine that sold you $2 for the price of $1, wouldn’t you LOVE that vending machine?
If you’ve run ads in the past and you’ve lost money, however, it’s not your fault – you were simply using the wrong system.
Introducing… the Waterfall Ad Scaling Method – this is the ad scaling method I used to turn $17 into $340K.

Are curious what marketing trends you’re going to see more of in 2020? Here’s my list:
According to Nielsen Research….
- The average customer journey is 21 days. And it takes an average of 32 exposures to your brand.
- Attention is fragmented – she’s on FB, FB Messenger, Instagram, Instagram Messages, YouTube, Podcasts, and ALL the Internet. On ALL platforms at ALL times.
- She’s also on a phone, a tablet, a desktop, and a smart TV. SIMULTANEOUSLY.
- We also see 10,000 ads PER DAY.
This is the new landscape of digital marketing. However, YOU HAVE A GREATER OPPORTUNITY TO REACH THEM THAN EVER BEFORE.
- People spend an average of NINE 9.73 HOURS on personal media every day.
We are hooked to our devices for the majority of the day. However…. If you know how to get in front of the right people at the right time, it’s easy.
You JUST have to be everywhere all the time. (32 times, at least, right?) Possible, but… expensive (it will cost you either time OR money). -
I’ve always done things differently. That’s probably why I lasted less than four years in the “real world” of corporate marketing agency politics, before jumping ship to start my own business.
Those rebel tendencies followed me into entrepreneurship, too.
While my peers were leading with “FREE VALUE” this and “FREEBIE PDF” that, I never saw the point of growing an email list that way.
It felt like a lot of effort with little to no return on my investment.
Everyone says you NEED an email list, but they leave out the details of HOW to grow that list in a way that actually supports your business and puts money in your pocket.
What usually happens? You end up growing a list of freebie seekers, instead of growing a list of future buyers.
If you’re here, you likely either purchased my Livestream365 calendar or the Visibility Bundle, or you’ve at least seen the ads.
That product and sequence is what finally got me away from freebies and raving about Tiny Offers instead.
You see, it wasn’t until I developed a Tiny Offer that I finally felt good about growing my email list… and it changed my entire business.
*** If you want to know exactly how it changed my business and get an inside look at the entire system, sign up for a free, live masterclass here. ***
Now, back to the Tiny Offer…think back to your experience. You probably saw my ad and thought: “Oooh, YES! I HAVE been thinking that I need to be more visible in my business. This will make it SOOO much easier.”
Here’s how the offer unfolded: $27 main offer >> additional $37 product on the checkout form >> after checkout, buyers were able to add ANOTHER program for $77.
Nothing about this was random.
The products were designed in a VERRRRY specific order to solve a pain point, agitate another pain point, then offer a second solution for the new pain point, in what I call “the solve/agitate buying cycle”.
This process works because it captures attention in a safe, non-threatening way, and continues the client journey by offering a suite of products that are related and all help move your customer toward a specific, quick-win end result — building a huge amount of trust in the process.
There’s a lot more to the Tiny Offer System that I designed — like, more than I can fit in this post.
But one of the questions I get ALL the time, is “what tools do you use to make this happen?”
The tools I use for this system include:Of course, I give even more details on this system in my free masterclass: TinyOfferLab.com
See you there!
-
One of the biggest questions people ask during my webinars and in my DMs is all about how they can create their own Tiny Offer™ for their unique niche.
I think of Tiny Offer creation as a product suite comprised of 8 different categories:
- Hold My Hand
- Educational
- Inspirational
- Time Saving
- Accountability
- Social Proof
- Interactive
- Organizational
When you’re creating an Offer Suite, you want to make sure every $27+$37+$77 suite has at least one of each of these segments included to make it feel like a really complete robust and tangible offer.
For example, different options for the “Time Saving” category includes:- Digital Assets
- Templates
- Slide Decks Accountability
- Group
- Toolkits
- Black Book
- Swipe File
- Workbooks
- Playbooks
- USB Drives
What did this look like for me?
Since this type of offer system starts out with cold traffic running to a sales page, (cold traffic meaning advertisements shown to people who have NEVER heard about you before, which is against everything you’ve been told about growing your email list online – that’s okay and I’m about to tell you why), you want to make sure your offer includes pattern interrupt and something that’s going to grab their attention immediately.
Psychologically, this product pricing is equivalent to the snacks that you always see lining the checkout aisles at the store. $27 in the online learning space is a snack – it’s in the price range of being low enough that people are willing to go get their credit cards on a whim or without needing to consult their budget or partner but it’s enough to cover the costs of your ad spend all day long.
The funnel starts with a sales page for a $27 product with a very specific design – the order form has a TWO STEP order form, which is key and I’ll tell you why. When you use this form that’s called a two step order form, you’re gaining the contact information (name and email) EVEN IF they don’t end up putting in their billing information. That person is going on your email list even if they get distracted by their kid wanting a snack or they forget their PayPal password or whatever.
Directly below the order form, you’re going to offer a complementary product – a product that will help them get results FASTER. This product is listed for $37 and is called an Order Bump.
After they’ve checked out, instead of bringing them to a thank you confirmation page, you’ll bring them to another sales page that offers them a NEW product, more closely related to what you know they actually need to get the full result. Instead of another product that complements the first product, this is a NEW pain point that’s being solved.
Every business with multiple products knows there should be a “solve and agitate” cycle to keep yourself in business. When you solve one problem, you’ll agitate another – like the quote “new level, new devil” – they’re going to have new pain points at every new level, and you’re here in advance, helping them solve it.
So, my $27 product is a 365 ideas (time savings!), my compliment to that is a $37 social media repurposing course (education), because once you’ve got the livestreams, you’ll want to repurpose them, of course.
But what happens when you’re showing up with your daily livestreams, you’re repurposing them all over social media, and holy crap, now you have leads coming in like crazy – how do you actually sell to them? What do you say on the phone? How do you even GET them on the phone?
My ONE TIME OFFER, which is the product you sell after they’ve checked out for the $27 and $37 product is a sales training for $77, because I KNOW that’s their next struggle. I’m like the girl who is handing them a glass of milk and a napkin after selling them a gooey chocolate chip cookie. I’m ready to help them on a deeper level because I know them well enough to know what they need before they even do.
The sales training is a combination of Organizational, Educational, Inspirational, and Time Savings – because I give them my exact funnel and show them how to use it, along with some general sales training and a Trello board to organize their leads. Do you see how this all works?
Okay, back to you. When you’re decided how to create your own Tiny Offer, you can look at all of the steps it takes to get a client to their desired result and find the themes that can be correlated to products in order to build out a robust product suite.
If you want more information and a detailed walk through of how I did this for myself and now how I do it for my clients can be found here: TinyOfferLab.com
Hope to see you there soon!

Many of my clients have been told to avoid small products because they attract “the wrong crowd” when they’re selling high-ticket implementation, group programs or 1:1 coaching, so they’ve completely avoided them.
I’m of the belief that the Tiny Offer is the new freebie, and I’m on a mission to share that movement with the world.
The reason low-ticket items haven’t “worked” for the vast majority in the past was because of one small and simple reason – they were leading with the wrong low-ticket item.
You see, when it comes to money mindset and beliefs…
People either exist in the “I need to SAVE money, so I’ll SPEND time” realm…
Or the “I have NO TIME, so I’ll SPEND MONEY and pay whatever it takes to get this managed” realm.
I call this the Lingering Mindset vs. Efficiency Mindset.
People usually think of low-ticket passive income products as workbooks, ebooks, courses – generally those high-time-sucking materials that will attract the Lingering Mindset Buyers.
BUT… this is where product-design can shift to attract those Efficiency Mindset high-end buyers… you build a product that SAVES THEM TIME.
Boom. That’s all it takes.
If you’re someone that’s already selling high-ticket programs or coaching, you know that YOU are the biggest piece of that equation.
Your clients are paying for your time and energy. They’re paying to have your attention on their life or business. The clients’ access to you is what you’re selling – though you and I know you can only scale so far before you’re burnt out and maxed for time… and is that really how you want to operate in your business? Is that why you quit your day job? (Didn’t think so..)
So what do you have left of your high-ticket products or programs if you remove yourself? How can you assure your buyer can STILL get the results they’re seeking without access to you?
You can start by thinking about the results or transformation you help a client achieve and then brain dump every step they would need to take to get that result. (Keep in mind that this is the time to go micro – as the expert, this might come second nature to you, but not to your client!)
Once you’ve brain dumped your list of steps needed from ideation to completion, you can find the sweet spots and themes throughout the tasks that would be required for the customer to get a result. I’d also be willing to bet you can look at that list and identify one piece or step that would be a no brainer digital product for your future client to purchase from an ad (even as cold traffic). Many business owners can look at the content they’re already using for their existing clients and package it up into a minimal viable product quickly.
You could even get it done on the weekend. But, it took me overall about 30 days to package up the products, design the sales pages and write the emails for Livestream365.
I truly believe every business owner should lead with a Tiny Offer instead of a freebie because:
- You attract higher quality leads.
- You start treating yourself like a real business owner and gain confidence in “investing” in advertising.
- You become familiar with lead attraction systems.
Just like my Livestream365 concept opened the doors for business owners to start showing up for themselves to build their confidence and consistency, Tiny Offers can do the same thing for your business. Ads allow for consistent visibility and seeing immediate conversions and results builds major proof of concept, validation, and the confidence to continue with more, higher-ticket offers.
The only question is… what are you waiting for? Launch your Tiny Offer today! The first step is my masterclass. Click here to join.
Dream Big, Start Tiny…
Xx,
Allie
